Garage Sale

I'm doing my first garage sale tomorrow. AHHHH! Crazy! Lots of baby clothes. Seriously weeded out about half of their clothes. I didn't realize how much we had and I just keep buying! I've got boy and girl stuff. We have other baby items and other "stuff" not baby related. I have some wedding stuff, but not much since we borrowed a lot of that.

Anyway, stop by tomorrow or Saturday-starts at 8 am. Even if I don't have something you want to buy, I have some super cute kids to stare at. You don't want to miss out on their cuteness! (if you need an address, email me (muggsie910@yahoo.com) or check my facebook status!

On Hold

Our cloth diapering has been placed on hold. I'm a little sad about htis. I had just put some diapers in the washer to rinse before washing. I set it on the rinse cycle, walked ot the computer, sat down, got settled in to order some diapers, and I smelled an awful burning rubber odor. I went into the laundry room and it was full of smoke. I just stopped and unplugged the washer and dryer (I didn't know which was which so I had to do both). Hopefully it's just a belt that can be fixed quickly. I'm anxious to get into this a little more.

While on the topic, I can say I'm not a prefold fan. I like fitteds and I've tried one contour and I really liked it. That's actually what I was getting ready to order. I wanted a couple more so I could better compare. Oh well. I will wait.

Here's Adleigh in her brand new purple diaper cover.

Does this diaper make my butt look big?

Taking the Plunge

Thanks to Alicia, we are testing out some cloth diaper options. This is a big deal for us. I've toyed with this idea since before Adleigh was even born, but decided I hate doing laundry, therefore, it's never kept up and I do piles of it in a couple days. The last couple weeks I've kept my laundry hampers nearly empty by doing a load or two of laundry a day (the dark clothes basket seems to fill very quickly here!), or at the very least, every other day. I CAN keep my laundry up if I try. And it's really not so bad if I do it a little at a time!

Today Adleigh has been in a prefold and in fitteds. Even after just a few hours, I think I already can tell I prefer the fitteds. They are so easy. Almost as easy as disposables, yet they won't take hundreds of years to biodegrade. To start, we'll probably do both cloth and disposable. We will purchase as we are able. I'm really excited about this, but I'm totally scared too. I have to wonder what will happen when Adleigh shows up in the church nursery with cloth diapers on Sunday.

It's an expensive start-up cost, but after that it's not. I have my wedding dress posted on a couple sites, we are having a garage sale in a couple weeks (baby clothes will be there for boys and girls! I'm going to get rid of stuff!

We'll see in a couple weeks how we like it.

misc...

We are a house full of sickies. It's no fun. It started with Elijah. He had a fever, then a couple days later, had a nasty cough with runny nose. Then Adleigh got the fever. The next day Kylee got it. Kylee and Elijah are pretty well over it, just crusty noses and a little coughing. Poor Adleigh still has the stuffy, yucky runny nose. And so do I. The fever hit me a few nights ago. I knew what all was coming. Well, some of it. I had no idea that a sore throat and chest accompanied this particular cold or virus. It hurts, so I can't imagine how my little ones, especially Adleigh being so little, were feeling! I am hoping it's all gone from here VERY soon! So far Nick has managed to escape this dreadful illness. Today we have to go to Target. I was just there last night. I sure wish I would have remembered we were almost out of tissues! I'm going through them like crazy!

Life has been going and going and going! We have to make adjustments to things, but that's ok. We are definitely walking through some fires, but we've seen God's hand guiding us. Sometimes it's hard to have that faith. I didn't know if I could. I feel like we need a break from all the testings of our faith lately, but then I got a wonderful reminder of just how faithful and loving our God is.

Now for pictures! This is my favorite part, but I enjoy showing of my babies!

Not Me! Monday

It's been a while since I've done one of these, so let's see if I can remember anything from the past week or so! You can check out more Not Me! Monday's by going to MckMama's site!
I certainly did not post updates about Elijah's pooping and peeing on the potty during potty training last week. I'd NEVER assume people wanted to hear how often my son had to go!
While potty training, I most certainly did not let Elijah sit in front of the TV most of the first day on his potty chair! I'd never let my kids watch that much television or have a potty in the living room!
I did not accidentally forward an email to my husband in which my mother-in-law had said what his birthday present was.
I did not make my husband stop at Starbucks yesterday even though we were already running late for church. I would never put my need for (good) coffee above getting to church on time!
I did not stop for Starbucks again this morning on my way to moms group.
Can't think of anything else...

Quick update!

It's been a busy couple of weeks! We'll let the pictures do most of the talking! =)
Our latest "project." We potty-trained Elijah this week! He did so great! We started Tuesday, and he hasn't had too many accidents. In fact yesterday (day four) he only had one, and today he had NONE!
One day a week or so ago, it was around 85 degrees. I think mother nature forgot this is April. In Illinois. My friend Alicia got out their slip n slide and the kids had a blast. Well, Jacob was the only kid who'd actually slide on it, but everyone had fun!

Chubby baby in her new bathing suit! LOVE IT!

Leah, Elijah and Kylee

Leah, Jacob and Kylee. Jacob was so cute on the slide!

On April 11 we had Adleigh dedicated at church. Adleigh looked so gorgeous, and she was so good! It was such a fabulous day!
Beautiful girl!

Smiley girl!

The day after Easter we went to the Brookfield Zoo with Alicia, Jacob and Leah. We had a blast! Elijah did not want to leave the giraffes. I think we'll need to go back sometime!

Easter Sunday

Our three kids and our nephew Easton on Easter. I can't wait to get all five grandkids together in July when we get to meet Devilan Junior!

Happy Birthday!

29 years ago a baby was born. That baby would someday become the most important man in my life! Happy birthday my wonderful, amazing, awesome, incredible Nicholas! I love you more than I could ever say!
